I had actually planned to go visit the orphan home last year but couldn’t, due to COVID-19 restrictions and all. I discovered this orphan home through Instagram and felt that I really got connected with the children there. Visiting an orphanage home was truly a life-changing experience as it is full of emotions and sentiment. For me, it was like a dream come true as I waited so long to go visit them.

The Orphans Homes was founded in 1991 by Mrs.Rita Rai, chairperson of The Orphans Home. It is a non-profitable organization and is dedicated to the orphans and helpless children of Nepal. Orphan Home provides shelter, nutritious food, clothes, medicare, and education for children’s successful future. Orphans Homes strives to produce empowered and dignified citizens providing security and basic needs to the most vulnerable children.

27th July 2021 has to be one of the best days and the happiest moments of my life as I decided to go meet the children that particular day. The home had 28 kids in total consisting of various age groups. Stepping inside the orphan home gave me chills, and meeting all the children in person was next-level satisfaction. They were the sweetest and greeted me with an open heart and a big smile. The children were so frank and treated me like their own sister. We played many games together and I personally enjoyed a lot.

One of the kids named Dipu was just 5 years old and also the smallest of all. He actually made me play different games with him. I still remember him carrying the dog and bringing to me saying “ Dijju, hernus maile kukur liyera aako chu”. The aura and vibes of the children were so positive that you would want to spend more time with them. All the emotions and feelings were so strong that I cannot put all of them into words.

Nowadays, we all ask for so much just to achieve the smallest or most insignificant amount of entertainment. But what actually is true happiness and satisfaction?? Most of them don’t even have an answer to that. For me, nothing excites me more than seeing these children smiling and enjoying. We often complain about the smallest little things but are never grateful for all the things we have in life. A visit to the orphanage home has to be one of the best experiences ever and will surely visit them soon again.
